Beithir – Real Bone Spirit Sculpture | Irish Mythology Art

The delicate, tapering end of the Beithir skeletal tail, showing the precision of hand-articulated small-scale bones.

The Beithir

The Beithir skeletal art is described as “the largest and most deadly kind of serpent”, or as a dragon (but without certain typical European folklore dragon features such as wings or fiery breath).

Born from the head of a serpent that refused to die, the Beithir is a wingless dragon associated with thunderstorms and the raw power of nature. This piece features a long, sinuous skeletal
frame that mimics a lightning strike frozen in bone.
